Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
This privacy policy explains how Google Docs Tab Collapser ("we", "our", or "the extension") handles your information when you use our Chrome extension and associated services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account to access Pro features, we collect your email address and a display name. This is necessary to identify your account and manage your subscription.
Analytics Data (PostHog)
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics to help us understand how the extension is used. This includes aggregate metrics such as feature usage (e.g., how often "Collapse All" or "Bulk Delete" is clicked) and extension setting preferences. We use a randomly generated, anonymous distinct ID that cannot be traced back to your identity.
We do not collect: your Google account email, name, or document content. We do not track individual user behavior in a way that links to your personal identity. This data is never used for behavioral advertising or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Local Storage Data
The extension stores your tab collapse/expand preferences locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your browser.
Payment Information
We do not collect or store credit card details. All payments are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. Lemon Squeezy receives your email address and billing information solely for payment processing. We only store a record of your transaction and subscription status.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for:
- Providing the core extension functionality (collapse/expand)
- Managing your subscription and providing access to paid features
- Responding to support inquiries
- Improving the extension based on usage analytics
3. Data Storage & Security
Local tab preferences are stored on your device and cleared when you uninstall the extension. Account data (email, name, subscription status) is stored securely on Supabase with industry-standard encryption.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — authentication and database. Handles account creation, login, and stores your account data securely.
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing. Handles billing, invoices, and payment compliance. Your payment data is governed by their privacy policy.
- PostHog — usage analytics. Helps us understand how our extension is used so we can improve features. Their data collection is governed by their privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion via email, your personal data will be removed. Payment records may be retained longer as required by tax regulations.
Local storage data in your browser remains until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (by deleting your account)
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
